Let’s take a trip back to an unspecified historical era when Sinbad walked the sands of Arabia’ genies escaped from lamps and belly dancers were the prime time entertainment; in fact Sinbad doesn’t turn up in Arabian Nights: Tales of Gold, this online slot from Intouch Games/Slot Factory but there are free spins and a genie-themed bonus feature to enjoy.
Arabian Nights: Tales of Gold is a five reel slot with three rows and fifteen fixed paylines; those reels spin on the side of a building overlooking this sun-baked town and occasionally the genie will pop up in front to oversee proceedings.
The three belly dancers represent the high value symbols while 9, 10, J, Q, K and A make up the lower values.
The wild symbol is the Vizier and he will substitute for all standard symbols to help form winning combinations; the prince and the genie’s lamp are the bonus symbols.
Bonus Features
Free Spins
Landing three, four or five of the prince bonus symbols on an active payline will award 5, 7 or 9 free spins respectively. We didn’t manage to trigger these so we can’t say much more about them but there don’t appear to be any enhancements during this round.
Genie Feature
Trigger this by landing at least two of the genie’s lamps on an active payline and you’ll now get to spin a mini-reel which just features multiplier values of different colours; the three multipliers which land will be totalled and applied to your stake but if the multipliers are same colour the whole prize will be doubled.
Verdict
Arabian Nights: Tales of Gold is a basic but entertaining slot with a theme which generally delivers some excitement; the free spins are always welcome but we especially like the Genie Feature which is where the bigger wins seem to be.
