Always beware of what’s lurking in the woods, especially if it’s dark and you are stranded in some Eastern European country. Bitten is an online slot from IGT which includes every vampire stereotype you can think but which is no worse off for it. It even comes complete with an attractive-looking vampire but there’s no sign of Dracula.
Bitten plays out over five reels and twenty blood-soaked paylines and the backdrop to those reels is s spooky forest setting; an enormous full moon looms over the treetops and the moonlight silhouettes creepy treetops and fluttering bats.
Playing card icons dripping with blood represent the lower value symbols and the higher value ones are of course all theme-related and include a wine glass full of red liquid, a candelabra and an ornate door knocker.
The game’s Bitten logo is wild and substitutes for all symbols except the Crypt Bonus which is the key to the main feature in this game.
Bonus Features
Free Spins
Compared to some of IGT’s newer games, Bitten does lack a little bit of bonus-related action but it does have a free spins feature which you can trigger by landing the Crypt Bonus scatter symbols anywhere on the reels. You will receive the following:
- Three Crypts – 5-14 free spins
- Four Crypts – 8-17 free spins
- Five Crypts – 10-20 free spins
When the round is triggered you will be asked to pick a coffin which will determine your exact number of spins; there’s also the added prize of a potential 50x multiplier if you get really lucky. The multiplier starts at 1x but increase by one per spins. It can reach 50x if you trigger the spins again from within the free spins feature.
Verdict
This is certainly a nice-looking slot with an appropriately creepy soundtrack but apart from it’s looks it’s a bit lacking in memorable features. Horror fans might appreciate the cartoon-style graphics and content but not for too long.
