If you’re serious about making money gambling online or offline then it’s no secret that blackjack is the way to go. Playing the game while following what’s known as Basic Blackjack Strategy is a mathematically assured way of reducing the house edge to the lowest possible level.
Blackjack Single Deck is a version of this famous game developed by Net Entertainment and, as the name implies, it’s the version which uses only one deck. Other versions use between two and eight – more decks were introduced to make card counting harder. Card counting is not possible playing solo online because each card drawn is random.
How To Play Blackjack
This is a nice and easy variation and as you can see from the screenshot above it’s all quite clear. Standard rules apply so a blackjack will pay out at 3/2, the dealer must hit on a soft 17 (that’s a hand with an A that can be used as a 1 0r 11) and insurance is available at 2/1.
Pick you chip level from the bottom right hand corner and drop it into the white-edged box. Then just click ‘Deal’ to receive your cards.
Now is the time to refer to the basic blackjack strategy table to aid you in what to do next. There’s no guesswork here, just follow the maths for the best chance to win. You can do the following:
- Hit – take another card
- Stand – stick with what you’ve got
- Double – double your stake and receive one more card but only if your cards total 10 or 11
- Split – split the cards if they have the same value and play both as individual hands
- Buy Insurance – if the dealer has an A you will be offered insurance against a potential blackjack; it costs half your bet value and will pay 2/1 if a blackjack is revealed
When you’ve made your choice the events will play out and hopefully you will be a winner. At least you will know that by using the basic strategy you are getting the best possible chance to win.
Verdict
Blackjack Single Deck is a nice simple way to get into this game; the RTP is a massive 99.83% (house edge 00.17%) but you must be following the strategy to attain that. Good luck!
