Castle Builder 2 is a sequel to Rabcat’s innovative Castle Builder online slot, a release which added new dimensions to spinning the reels and game progression; this is a poshed-up version which again requires mediaeval construction but throws a little extra into the mix too – read all about it below.
Castle Builder 2 at it’s heart is a five reel slot with three rows and up to fifteen paylines but before you get to that stage you’ll need to pick one of three characters to use in this story – Sam, Mandy or the third chap who will be unlocked for use after completing the game cycle with one of the others. You’ll then have to pick a location from the map and that’s where your gameplay will start.
All the symbols are related to the theme and the four most important (but least valuable) are the stone, the bricks, the slate and the granite – forming winning combos with these building materials is the key to castle construction; gold bars, treasure chests and crowns are the remaining symbols.
The wild symbol is the character you’re playing with and he/she will substitute for all others to form winning combos except for the pink Free Spin scatter icon.
As with it’s predecessor, Castle Builder 2 locates it’s reels to the right of the screen space leaving room on the left to start castle construction.

Castle Construction/Level Progression
Each winning combo featuring a construction material will slowly fill up the small grid in the bottom left hand corner; when full a section of the building will be completed and when eight grids have been filled up the whole castle is finished. You will then move on to the next location to start another castle and when all castles for a particular character are finished their game cycle is complete.
As the construction progresses in each location, admirers turn up who want to marry you; as each castle is completed you get to pick one who will award a cash prize.
There are fifteen different kingdoms in Castle Builder 2 with the first two and the last one only playable using a particular character.
Free Spins
This is triggered by landing three, four or five of the Free Spins scatter symbols anywhere in view for which you will receive 10, 15 and 20 free spins respectively; there’s no multiplier for your wins and it’s not possible to trigger any more from within this round so this is really just an opportunity to collect more construction materials for free.
Verdict
Castle Builder 2 is more than just a slot machine and if you enjoyed the first one then this will be right up your street; the gameplay mechanic is the same but the graphics and animations are a bit sharper and there’s the added bonus of a free spins round to enjoy; this is a game which offers bigger potential rewards the longer you play so stick at it.
