Fortress Of Fortunes is a five reel slot with three rows and up to twenty paylines. In keeping with the fantasy theme there’s a dramatic backdrop featuring wild countryside and castle-topped mountains.
When you begin playing you will be asked to choose one of three characters – Varick, Raelyn or Tordek. That person will become one of the symbols on the reels; the others are the Fortress Of Fortunes, the Copper Dragon and the Dungeons & Dragons logo. 10, J, Q, K and A make up the lower value symbols.
The green crystal ball eye is the wild and most valuable symbol, worth 2500x your line stake for five on a winning payline. The twenty-sided dice, familiar to all D&D players is the scatter symbols which activates the main feature.

Fortress Free Spins
This is good fun and it’s triggered by landing three or more of the dice scatter symbols anywhere in view. You will initially receive the following:

But first you get to play a version of the original game. You will appear in a dungeon made up of a 3 x 3 grid and you can choose to move left, right, up or down to a new square. Each square will contain an increased multiplier, more spins, a staircase to a lower dungeon (there are five in total) or a fight with a monster.
If you have to fight a monster your strength will be compared to his; for example yours might be 3 and his 10 – in this case the difference is 7 so you would have to roll a 7 or higher on the dice to prevail. Win and you continue roaming the dungeon, lose and the spins will begin. If you make it to the final level and beat the dragon, an extra 4x multiplier will be yours.
During the spins, two symbols are enough to earn a payout and three+ scatters adds additional spins to your total.

It’s the bonus feature which lifts this game above the norm; it’s a genuinely good attempt to include aspects of the original game and we like it. The RTP of 94.50 is a little low but passable.
