Online slots are all well and good but for the real casino experience there’s nothing like a session on the roulette wheel. Of course we’re still playing these games from the comfort of our own devices so we don’t actually need to step through the doors of a bricks and mortar casino but it’s the thought that counts. French Roulette is from net Entertainment so read on to find out more.
French Roulette is of course a version of European roulette which features just one zero rather than the zero/double zero present in American roulette. In a casino the European version would give a house edge of 2.70% and that’s exactly what we have here so there’s no trimming of the odds anywhere along the line.
You are presented with the wheel and the betting table when you first load up the game and we can see that it’s French because it has various French words present (manqué, passé, impair, pair) along with their translations.
How To Play
Use your mouse cursor to pick up the chip values you require and place them on the table; you can place bets on single numbers, groups of numbers, colours and most other options you can think of. There are also two sets of specialist bets available accessible by clicking the ‘Open Racetrack’ and ‘Open Favourite Bets’ to view these options:
- Racetrack – this is a quick way to bet on a number and then the numbers surrounding it on the wheel. Just place the chip on the racetrack to view the various options available.
- Special Bets – here you can find a long list of betting options which once again enable you to select specific grouped of numbers. You can also create and save your favourite bets here for easy future use.
When you’ve placed all your bets just click the green button in the bottom right hand corner to get things started. Now watch in hope as the ball bounces around the wheel and settles into a numbered slot which will make you rich – or at least that’s the plan. Wins will then be paid out and the betting can start again.
Verdict
We like the realism of this game, particularly the fact that the odds for the player are the same as if you were playing at a bricks and mortar casino. This means that if you’d like to try out one of those dodgy betting systems before you hit the real thing, you can do so at the same odds. The graphics are top quality and there’s some smooth elevator music to rep you entertained.
