We always say that there are certain characters who will improve an online slot no matter what; pirates and vampires are a couple of examples but cowboys are also up there and that’s why we’re pleased to bring you this review of Gunslinger, a brand new game from Play N Go which is probably the most authentic Old West-themed one we’ve played. It has several bonus features and a jackpot feature to enjoy.
Gunslinger has five reels and twenty five paylines and it’s a great looking game. Through the wooden frames of the reels we can see an authentic Western town complete with dusty street and darkened wooden buildings.
One could accuse the game of using the usual boring playing card symbols for the lower values but here they are poker cards and they are an integral part of the jackpot feature – more of which later. The higher value symbols are a pair of pistols, a buxom young lady and a pouch of gold nuggets.
Bonus symbols here include Wanted posters, a bottle of whisky, a cowboy wild and a rearing horse scatter.

Turn The Cards Bonus
This is a useful little feature and it’s all to do with the jackpot above the reels. Each time you make a winning combo with the playing cards, that particular card will light up and the jackpot amount will increase. When all are lit you will get to play a mini-game in which you turn over five cards to reveal cash amounts which will then be totalled for your prize.
If you can turn over five sherriff’s badges the jackpot will be yours.
Shoot A Bottle Free Spins
Landing three of the whiskey bottle symbols anywhere on the reels will reward you with a number of free spins and all wins during this phase will be doubled. It’s possible to re-trigger the spins by landing three more bottles of grog. The number of spins is determined by shooting one of the bottles.
Bounty Hunt Bonus
Three of the Wanted posters on an active payline will grant you this brief game – just pick one of the posters to select an opponent. First you will walk down a deserted street, shooting barrels to earn prizes. Finally you will face your opponent and you must pick which way he will move when the shootout begins.
