Lucky Twins is a five reel slot with three rows and nine fixed paylines; twins don’t seem to be regarded as particularly lucky in oriental culture but perhaps it refers to China’s ‘one child’ policy – having twins would be a fortunate way to avoid that restriction. Enough cultural reflection though and on to this game – the layout and the big symbols will certainly be familiar to Microgaming fans but we like the gold leaf raining down in the background.
There are five theme-related symbols including the game’s logo, a lucky cat, a dream catcher, firecrackers and a pouch of Chinese coins; 10, J, Q, K and A make up the lower values.
The wild symbol features the twins and will substitute for all others except the scatter – that’s represented by a gold ingot.
If you were expecting any bonus features in Lucky Twins then you will be disappointed – unusually for a five reel slot there are no extra features, free spins of mini-games to break up the action. You’ll have to rely on the wild and scatter symbols for any extra ‘excitement’.
Verdict
Lucky Twins looks easy enough on the eye and plays smoothly for sure but without any bonus features it seems to us to act a certain something. However it will suit those reel-spinning purists, especially if they like the theme and it has a decent RTP of 96.00% – 97.00%.
