Net Entertainment have a track record of producing some of the most creative and engaging online slots around and they also make a small number of what we can only describe as mini slots. These take up a very small amount of screen space and we suspect that employees who play these on company time might like the ease of which they can be hidden. Mini Spell is another such game and it squeezes five reels and a bonus feature into it’s tiny frame.
Mini Spell is a five reel game with twenty paylines and there’s a wizardy theme to proceedings. The playing area is too small to add much in the way of pretty pictures but there’s certainly a medieval vibe to the whole thing.
The five main symbols are theme-related and include a dragon’s eye, a green potion, a spell book, a bubbling cauldron and a glowing crystal ball. 9, 10, J, Q, K and A are the lower value symbols.
Special symbols are a wizard’s hat wild and a scatter represented by the wizard’s staff which includes a crystal insert on the end. If the wild contributes to a winning combination it will apply a multiplier of 2x to that win.
Bonus Features
Free Spins
Mini Spell might be small but it manages to include a free spins round and the way to trigger it is to land three or more of the wizard’s staff scatter symbols anywhere in view.
You will now receive a hefty 15 spins with each win multiplied by 3x. The good news is that it’s possible to win more spins by landing three or more scatters during this round.
Verdict
Most of the mini slots are of the three reel variety so there’s a bit more ambition in this one with the addition of the free spins. We’re still not entirely sure of the target market for these tiny games but if that’s your cup of tea then why not?
