The interesting narrative behind this online slot from Elk Studios tells us that four parrots have superseded their former pirate owners and now rule the high seas – it’s called Pirots and it introduces an innovative gameplay mechanic and a myriad of features to keep things entertaining.
Pirots plays out on the grid you can see above which initially is a 5×5 setup although this can increase via the features; the way to create wins is to have a particular bird land next to a gem of the same colour – the parrot will then move around and collect those gems with more falling in from above to fill in the gaps and hopefully extend the winning.
The backdrop to those reels is the Caribbean Sea viewed through the rigging of this pirate ship; tropical undergrowth frames the entire scene.
The only regular symbols are four gems in red, purple, green and blue but there are also four parrots in similar colours. Various other symbols are revealed along the way and described below.

Symbol Collection & Base Game Features
As the parrots move around the grid they can collect special items in their path as well as gems – these have various effects:
- White Arrow – symbols the same colour as the bird is collecting are upgraded in value. Their are five value levels and gems can be increased by up to three levels.
- Multicoloured Arrow – the values of all gems in view are upgraded by up to three levels.
- Rum Barrel – gems around this cask of grog are transformed into ones of a similar colour being collected by the parrot.
- Gold Coin – collecting the coin will award an instant prize of up to 500x the stake.
- Wild – acts as a wild symbol.
- Bomb – when all other wins have been settled the bomb explodes and destroys all gems around it – it also increase the grid size by one row and one column. The maximum grid size is 8×8.
The meter above the reels is there to collect gems as they’re scooped up by the parrots and when this meter is full treasure chests are chucked onto the reels. These contain more of the special symbols described above. The meter can be filled multiple times during one game to crank up the chest-throwing action.
Occasionally adjacent parrots can swap positions if a win can be formed by doing so.
Free Spins/Drops
