Brand new from Microgaming is this Western-themed online slot which is slightly reminiscent of IGT’s Western Belles. That’s because the theme is centred on three female characters who are in town and looking for trouble. These are the Pistoleras of the title and as well as revealing outfits they can offer players two bonus features – a free spins round and a symbol matching game where there is money to be made.
Pistoleras is a five reel slot with three rows and twenty five fixed paylines; it reminds us a little of Microgaming’s older slots with reels which fill up the screen space, leaving no room for any background detail.
The three Pistoleras are the high value symbols with the usual 10, J, Q, K and A making up the numbers.
The Pistoleras logo is wild and will multiply by 3x any wins to which it contributes; two carriages represent the bonus symbols – one labelled ‘Scatter’ and the other labelled ‘Free Spins’.
Bonus Features
Free Spins
This feature is triggered by landing three or more of the Scatter carriages anywhere in view; you will receive:
- Three scatters – 15 free spins
- Four scatters – 20 free spins
- Five scatters – 25 free spins
During this round the three girls can appear stacked on any reel and all wins will be multiplied by 3x. Additionally the spins can be re-triggered by landing more scatters and the Saloon Bonus can be activated from here.
Saloon Bonus
This game can be triggered from within the base game or the free spins and you will be taken to a shooting gallery featuring twelve targets. You must now pick the targets until you find three matching girls and win that character’s award. If you can match the three wild symbols you will win the prizes from all three Pistoleras.
Verdict
There’s certainly something ‘retro’ about Pistoleras but while the graphics lack a little quality it’s certainly worth checking out; the big wins are found in the bonus games and the sound effects keep things ticking along.
