Cube-shaped fruit is clearly an ideal theme for an online slot machine and it’s here now in the shape of Strolling Staxx, a game developed by Net Entertainment in which stacks (or Staxx) of fruit stroll leftwards on the reels.
Strolling Staxx is a five reel slot with three rows and ten fixed paylines; cubes are the order of the day with a landscape full of cubed trees beside a gently flowing river. Squarish clouds float past in a sunny, blue sky.
The five higher value symbols are all cubed fruit – watermelons, strawberries, lemons, cherries and plums – while J, Q, K and A carved from wood make up the lower values. Any of the symbols, including the wild, can also appear as a 2×2 or 3×3 colossal icon anywhere on the reels. The 3D ‘W’ is wild and will substitute for all others to help form winning combinations.

Bonus Features
Strolling Staxx Respins
This is the feature around which the game revolves and it’s triggered each time at least one reel is completely full of one type of fruit; this stack (or stacks) and any connected matching symbols will now move left one position as the respins begin. Any more stacks landing on the reels will extend the feature but once the final stack has dropped off the left hand side the round is over.
Bonus Bet/Extra Chance
The Bonus Bet costs your stake plus 50% and it pays for the Extra Chance feature; now if the Strolling Staxx Respins are triggered by a stack rather than a colossal symbol there’s a chance that 3×3 colossal symbols will be overlaid on the reels, hopefully resulting in some big wins.
Verdict
Strolling Staxx is another very high quality slot from Net Entertainment with a clever bonus feature which seems to trigger regularly during the base game; note that the RTP decreases slightly to 95.95% from 95.98% when using the Bonus Bet option.
