Thunderfist is an attractive online slot machine from Net Entertainment which combines the mystical world of martial arts with some ridiculously cute characters. Should the two conflicting factors be combined in a slot machine? Who cares as long as it’s entertaining – and it certainly is. For the purists, the graphics remind us of the art of Stan Sakai in Usagi Yojimbo.
This is a 5 reel and 243 payline slot which means there’s a lot of ways to win some money; the background to the game is a steamy bamboo forest while the reels are built in to a bamboo frame. The standard 10, J, Q, K and A are the low value symbols while the cute martial artists are the higher value characters; we have red, green and yellow male characters and blue and pink female characters.
Special symbols in Thunderfist are the stacked wild which resembles the baddie in Big Trouble in Little China and the scatter symbol which is a gold coin. The wild symbol is a stacked wild which means that the bearded baddie is three symbols high; land him in the right position and he will of course cover all three symbols on the reel, adding to your winning chances.
Bonus Features
The only bonus game in this slot is triggered by the scatter symbol; land three, four or five of the gold coins and you’ll get either ten, fifteen or twenty free spins. It can be a real money maker and during the free spins feature a random multiplier will increase your win by between 2x and 5x.
Thunderfist does lack some of those extra features which many of us take for granted but it does make up for it with it’s attractive design and 243 paylines. Additionally if you do land a winning character line, they perform a little movement to celebrate.
